Pragmatic-Eclectic - VATICAN The Board Game

It's Friday night - as a family, we are gathered around the piano - just wishing one of us could play it.

My son suggests, how about VATICAN The Board Game From Cardinal to Pope—how it happens ?

And like a Mormon family we agree.

Forget Monopoly! Lift your eyes above the petty ambition of owning hotels, buying streets, charging rent and passing "Go"! Here's the game in which you get to become Pope, no less, with a gazillion faithful Catholics around the world hanging on your every infallible word.

Vatican is a game played by six cardinals, you get to choose the one that best reflects your personality, who roll the dice in the quest to become papabile. On the long road to the conclave, they encounter all the usual Catholic preoccupations: stem cell research, theological censorship, Latin liturgical texts, beatification politics, visions of long-dead saints, and 101 other things which will... er... thrill and delight younger players.

Play this, and the game promises to "unlock the secrets of how men become Pope". Ladies: check with your priest before playing Vatican, as it could be a mortal sin to pretend to become Pope.

Only $39.95. Puff of smoke not included. http://www.vaticanboardgame.com/

We had a great time ... you may now refer to me as Pope Mork, I have an opening position going - anyone want to go Banker? Friday nights are "Family Nights" from now on, this is what I said, well - decreed really ... - but the rest of my kin tell me all I will be playing is Solitaire and that I can go kiss my Papal ring. I'm now thinking inquisition ....
